Harrachov – holiday resort, border pass to Poland,
glass manufacture – possibility to visit. There is a historical grinding
mill and also the museum of glass. The Mumlava waterfall – Mumlavský
vodopád – is remarkable, too.
Hormí Mísečky – holiday resort, in 1050 m
altitude.
Zlaté návrší – You can find a grave mount there
– a memory of Hanč and Vrbata who both died during a cross country
skiing competition there on the 24th of March 1913.
Pramen Labe – source of the river Labe – the largest Czech river. There
you can see the town signs of the cities through which the river Labe runs
– from Krkonoše to Hamburg. Labský vodopád, the Labe waterfall, is also
close.
Špindlerův Mlýn – mountain resort, cable
railway to Medvědín and Pláně, summer toboggan run and coasting
slide.
Český ráj – the Czech Paradise, various
footpaths and cycle paths. Rocky towns are famous for climbing. There are
also suitable places for paragliding. A great amount of lakes, rivers and
swimming pools. There are a lot of old castles and ruins around – Hrubá
Skála, Valdštejn, Kost, Trosky, Valečov, Frýdštejn, Humprecht, Hrubý
Rohovec, Drábské světničky.
Zoo Dvůr Králové nad Labem – the largest Zoo
in the Czech Republic; there are 2300 animals. In the summer period is the
Safari open – animals are living in their natural environment. You can
also visit the city.
Jičín – Gate to the Czech Paradise, the town
is famous for its fairy tales written by
Václav Čtvrtek. It is about an adventure of the robber Rumcajs
and his family. Each year an international fairy tale festival takes place
in Jičín. There is also the possibility to visit the reconstructed
aqua park and the swimming pool.
Kozákov – the highest peak of Podkrkonoší –
744m. On the top there is a chalet and an observation tower – 48,5 m;
further more a skiing lift.
Bozkovské dolomitové jeskyně – karst caves.
It’s famous because of the largest underground lake in Bohemia. It is a
labyrinth of underground passages. The only dolomite caves which are open to
the public in North Bohemia.
